Lyon Indigo Campsite

At Lyon Indigo Campsite****, you can stay in one of our comfortable, equipped Wood & Canvas tents, that is set up all ready for your arrival, or choose an original type of accommodation and stay in a gypsy caravan. The campsite also has mobile homes for holidays in 'all the comfort.

• Four models of "Wood and Canvas" tent are available.
  
  Designed with a wooden frame and floor, they are fully equipped. They can accommodate up to 4 or 5 people and have a living room that opens onto a wooden terrace with an awning as well as two separate bedrooms .
   

Please note: there is no stove in the Zenith Tent proposed at Camping Indigo Lyon.

• At Lyon Indigo Campsite, the mobile homes are located close to the swimming pool and the children's playground.
  
  For a more peaceful holiday, cars should be left in the car park at the entrance to the mobile home village. We have 3 types of Mobile Home available.
  They all comprise a main room with kitchen area equipped, bathroom with toilet and shower cubicle, and 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms depending on which mobile home you choose. They can accommodate up to 6 people depending on the model.
  It is possible to hire a television or have Wi-fi internet access.

• At the Indigo Lyon, you can rent a wooden caravans.
  
  Each gypsy caravans can accommodate up to 4 people. They consist of a living room with kitchenette, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. For a more peaceful holiday, park your car in the car park located at the entrance to the gypsy caravan area!

At the Lyon Indigo Campsite, you will find:

• a friendly reception area with all the information that you need for a great stay: we are one of the Information Points for Lyon's Tourist Information Centre. The reception also has a free Internet point for your use.
• a cosy central lodge (open all season), where you can enjoy a coffee, read a book on the region, play a board game with family and friends or watch TV.
• a cafe-restaurant (open every day) where you can have a drink on the terrace or enjoy one of our salads, home-made pizzas or grills.
• for a real French breakfast, bread and croissants are available (order in advance).
• a laundry area with a washing machine.

Discovering Lyon !

Lyon is the most important city in the Rhône-Alpes region with its geographic location in the heart of the Rhône valley offering a multitude of advantages. It is bordered to the north by Beaujolais country, to the west by the Lyonnais hills and to the east and north by the plains of the Dombes and the Isère.

Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyon is a city of art and culture as well as traditions and gastronomy. While visiting the city and its museums and historic sites, you will discover two millenniums that led
to a tremendous architectural heritage: Fourvière, its basilica and its Roman theatres, St Jean's Cathedral (a great medieval monument) located in the heart of Vieux Lyon, the Presqu’île (dating from the classical period), the Croix Rousse district and its silk industry…

You can also make the most of your stay in Lyon for some retail therapy. With over 2,600 shops offering a huge range of different products, at the Presqu'île area of Lyon you can shop until you drop!

And don't forget the Part Dieu...

On the left bank of the Rhône, this large shopping centre has more than 260 brands located within it, including Galeries Lafayette, as well as 14 UCG cinema screens, restaurants and bars for a break during your shopping.
The majority of leading brands in clothing, leather goods, homeware, electrical equipment, books and perfumes can be found at the Part-Dieu.

 

 

A city with something for all the family

As a symbol of the city’s cultural heritage, the Guignol puppet has become an emblem of Lyon. You can take your children to see a puppet show at the Croix-Rousse or Saint-Jean theatres or at the Parc de la Tête d'Or, which also has an excellent zoo and tropical greenhouses. It is also well worth visiting some of the museums such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts, the Musée d'Art Contemporain, the Institut Lumière or the Musée Gallo-Romain...
 

The Light Festival

The light festival was originally a religious festival, dating from the 19th century. It takes place around the 8th of December every year and has become an unmissable event for the people of Lyon as well as many other people who come to admire the city during the festival. Every year almost 4 million visitors flood into the city to enjoy the famous evening shows.
As well as the numerous displays that are set up all around the city, the festival is characterised by the strength of the participation of the people of the city, who put lamps (fluted candles in coloured glass holders) in their windows to light up their houses.
 

The Beaujolais region and its golden stones

Known the world over for its young wine, the Beaujolais is also a magnificent region to explore. With its little villages built in gold-coloured stone, its fortified castles, its paths alone the Saône Valley, vineyards and inns, the Beajolais has a wealth of treasures just waiting to be discovered. From Villefranche to Tarare, the Beaujolais’ "Floral Route" runs through tiny villages and areas abundant in historic heritage, architecture, gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and floral decoration…
