In the Auvergne, at the foot of the Puy de Dôme and overlooking Clermont-Ferrand, the Royat Indigo Campsite**** welcomes you to a haven of greenery, located over a 7 hectare, terraced site, with 137 excellent and mostly shaded pitches.
And if you don't have your camping equipment with you or would like to travel light, you can book one of our 'Ready to Camp' kits, including a tent and all the necessary equipment for camping.
And to make your stay on the campsite all the more enjoyable, you can make the most of our other services for campers: the morning bread service, etc.
Royat Indigo Campsite has pleasant and very comfortable shower blocks, available for your use. Baby changing areas are available for campers travelling with babies. The shower blocks are suitable for the handicapped.
They are checked and cleaned several times a day.
Accommodation
At Royat Indigo Campsite****, you can stay in a Wood & Canvas tent in the midst of nature or choose a mobile home or chalet.
Camp in the heart of nature in a Wood & Canvas tent on the edge of Royat national forest. To ensure a pleasant natural environment for your stay, vehicles should be parked at the entrance of the village of Wood & Canvas tents. Two models of ""Wood and Canvas"" tent are available.
- Classic IV and V Cosy "Wood and Canvas" Tents :
Our “Wood and Canvas” tents are designed with a wooden frame and floor. They have a fully equiped kitchen areaand 2 bedrooms. They accommodate 4 or 5 people.

- Mobile-homes
At Royat Indigo Campsite, you can also stay with your family in one of our new wooden 27m² mobile homes, which can accommodate up to 6 people. They have a kitchen area, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a partially shaded terrace.
- Wooden Chalet
You can also spend your holidays in the Auvergne in a wooden chalet. Overlooking the campsite and with beautiful views over the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the Indigo wooden chalets are 35 m² and can accommodate up to 6 people. They are fully equipped for a comfortable stay.
- At Royat Indigo Campsite, you can rent a wooden caravans.
Each gypsy caravans can accommodate up to 4 people. They consist of a living room with kitchenette, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.
Services
At Royat Indigo Campsite, you will find :
- a friendly reception area with all the information that you need for a great stay and a free Internet point. You can buy your tickets for the Vulcania Park and Royatonic at the campsite reception.
- bikes are available for rent next to the reception
- a cosy central lodge (open all season), where you can enjoy a coffee, read a book on the region, play a board game with family and friends,or simply relax beside the log stove...
- a cafe-restaurant where you can have a drink on the terrace or enjoy one of our salads, home-made pizzas or grills. There is also a television so that you can watch all of the major sporting events (Tour de France, tennis, football etc.).
- for a real French breakfast, bread and croissants are available (order in advance).
- a laundry area with a washing machine

a small grocery store so that you can easily buy all the basics on the campsite itself as well as some regional products.

Activities
Activities and a chance to relax on the campsite...
Royat Indigo Campsite has a heated pool with a paddling pool and a jacuzzi (open from 05/04 to 07/10). Deck chairs and parasols are available for your use so that you can make the most of the large terrace of the pool that opens onto the rest of the site.
On the campsite itself, you can enjoy a game of volleyball, table tennis, table football, or petanque with family and friends, and smaller children will love the children's playground. All the games facilities are just next to the swimming pool, creating a fun and friendly games area.
At the reception, you will find board games and books about the surrounding region. You can play games with your friends or family in a friendly communal area, around a log stove.
In the summer, Royat Indigo Campsite organises a friendly, nature-themed activity programme, to give you the opportunity to take part in some great activities on the campsite and explore Royat and the volcanoes, lakes and forests of the Auvergne.

Set off for a walk in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Park.
The Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park is home to the largest group of volcanoes in Europe : Monts Dômes, Monts Dore, the Cézallier, the Artense and the Monts du Cantal. And the landscapes are just as varied thanks to its puys, ridges, valleys and plateaus.
Puy de Dôme, in the heart of a range of 80 volcanoes
Located only a few kilometres from the capital of the Auvergne, in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Park, Puy de Dôme is the highest point in the Puys mountain range (1465 m), which includes 80 volcanoes and stretches over an area of about 60 km.
As of spring 2012, you will be able to reach the peak of the Puy de Dôme on a rack rail train.
This panoramic train will allow you to safely reach the summit at any time of year, no matter what the weather conditions. Silent and ecological, this train makes the site all the more worth visiting with the spectacular panoramic views it affords over the Puys mountain range and the rest of the Auvergne region.
There is also a wide range of other outdoor activities that you can enjoy close to the campsite: mountain biking, horse-riding, paragliding, canoeing, swimming, and more…

Listed as a City of Art. The visit of the old districts includes the cathedral, the Romanesque basilica of Notre-Dame-du-Port, the Montferrand district and its Renaissance façades.

- Montpeyroux and its 12th century dungeon (25 km from Royat Indigo Campsite).
- Saint-Floret, on the banks of the Couze Pavin (35 km from Royat Indigo Campsite).
- Saint-Saturnin, with its arkose sandstone houses and its Romanesque church (25 km from Royat Indigo Campsite).
- Usson, with its exceptional views over the Monts Dore and the Puys mountain range (40 minutes from Royat Indigo Campsite).

The Route des Châteaux d’Auvergne
The region has a particularly rich heritage, with more than 50 castles built in the Middle Ages (including 14 in the Puy-de-Dôme) and then under the reigns of the Dukes of Bourbon and Auvergne.
