Indigo Strasbourg campsite, located just 3 miles from the old town, is ideally situated for setting out to explore Strasbourg by foot or by bike, taking the cycle paths that leave from the campsite. The campsite has a tourist information point at reception.

Christmas in Strasbourg... Magical, fairytale... there are no words to describe the atmosphere in the city at this time of the year.


Discover the oldest Christmas market in Europe, created in 1570, which will celebrate its 446th anniversary from 25 November to 31 December, 2016. In December, at nightfall, the city is adorned with lights and becomes the most beautifully lit city in Europe.


Discover a unique atmosphere, with markets stalls, mulled wine, Christmas lights, decorated houses, the giant Christmas tree in Place Kléber... and of course, delicious Christmas Bredele biscuits.

Discover the historic centre of the Alsatian capital with its unique and diverse heritage. Explore the picturesque historic district of Petite France, once inhabited by tanners and millers. Notre-Dame cathedral and the heart of the old town


Don't miss the chance to visit the imposing 142-meter-high Notre-Dame Cathedral.
You can climb up to the platform at 66 metres height and admire the incredible views over the whole city.
Top tip: Free admission on the first Sunday of every month. The heart of the old town, around the cathedral is also remarkable, with unmissable sights, such as Kammerzell house, which has become the most famous building in Strasbourg. Admire this Renaissance-style former merchant's house, which has now become a renowned restaurant.
You will also love discovering the many little streets and plazas such as the Place du Château where Palais Rohan stands, as well as Place Gutenberg, Place Kléber, Place du Marché-aux-cochons-de-lait...

Strasbourg is also rich in cultural visits, with museums such as the Alsatian Museum, Rohan Palace (Archaeological Museum, Museum of Decorative Arts, Fine Arts Museum), the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Historic Museum of the city of Strasbourg


Top tip: the Alsatian capital opens the doors of its museums for free on the 1st Sunday of each month from 10am to 6pm.

No visit would be complete without stopping in one of the many winstubs, traditional taverns with a warm and friendly atmosphere, where you can sample the many Alsatian specialties.

Here are a few among many others: sauerkraut, baeckeoffe, flammekueche, Fleischknepfle (meatballs), Spaetzle, bretzel... and of course the famous beers and wines of Alsace.
